Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and musician from the United States who started her career by performing clever raps that delved into racial and sexuality with a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was through the instrument of trumpet. She also received Jazz and classical training before delving into hip-hop as a teenager. When she was in college, she was focusing on studies, concentrating in women's journalism and the arts. In a short period of time in Beijing and she also took classes in Mandarin. After graduation, she began to pursue music as her main focus. Her breakthrough came during the year 2018, appearing in a handful of high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
