Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine Morissette was born Ottawa, Canada, on the 1st June, 1974. Alanis' Greek is a female form of the surname her father's name. Her siblings are Chad (Alanis twin) and Wade. She began playing the guitar and piano when she was 21 years old. Alanis released a single in 1986 called Fate Stay with My (b aspect: Find The Right Man). She recorded two albums as a dance-pop artist from Canada: Alanis (1991) and Now Is The Time (1992). After turning 18 she moved from NY to Toronto in Canada, where collaborations with musicians and songwriters failed. Then, in 1994, she was able to find the right collaborator: the producer and songwriter Glen Ballard, who had already worked with many performers, including Aretha Franklin Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand. The couple moved to LA at the age of 19 years old. Madonna released "Jagged Little Pill" in a track on June 13 on the 13th of June in 1995. Alanis was able to come up with the idea of writing songs that was autobiographical and extremely personal. JLP had sold over 30 million copies in the world and is the most-sold female-oriented album ever. This is also the 3rd most talked about album of all time. It was a time of intense emotional crisis (she thought about not recording another record) and made a trip to India. Alanis Alanis Alanis
